He was born in Welimada and had his initial education there, and later at D.S. Senanayake Vidyala in Colombo. After graduating from the Moratuwa University, he is now a manager at Dialog. He is a diploma holder of journalism at Kelaniya and Jayawardene Pura universities. He works as an external lecture at Colombo University. He is also with the program called electricity and technology at SLBC. He is well conversant in SD, HD technology, basic colour of T.V technology, video signal processing method, signal measuring devices, and T.V transmission.
